Welcome to Chianciano Terme, in the Lands of Siena
The film is a reverie that, through a dreamlike story, talks about Chianciano's true identity:
the place of regeneration.
Chianciano’s history is so full of events it almost seems mythical. Already inhabited in the Neolithic era, this was a sacred place for the Etruscans as well as an important settlement along the road that led to the ports on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Later, it was a fiefdom of the Lombards and of the Farolfingi dynasty; Florence and Siena fought over the town for a long time and in the end it was brought under the rule of Cosimo I de' Medici.
Its old town center is to this day very well preserved but the feature that has always been Chianciano's most famous is the presence of thermal baths, already described by Horace who advised Emperor Augustus to come here to improve his health.
Today Chianciano Terme is a wellness resort known throughout Europe that, besides health and beauty therapies, still preserves its elegance and warm hospitality. Visitors can enjoy shopping sprees choosing from among refined pieces handcrafted in the Siena area, or try out one of the many restaurants with international quality standards yet still presenting local food and recipes, surrounded by an environment that is both contemporary and traditional. Chianciano is a must for all those who want to treat themselves to the very best.
